Why do all these signs have a Black border?
Consistency: Part of our initial goal in designing this product line was to take our most popular, requested designs and present them in a way that was both unique and recognizable. When you drive by one of our signs in California it will be as familiar and distinctive as the one you saw in New York. Kind of like picking a friend's face out in a crowd.
Maintenance: Another benefit of Black on the border is that's where most maintenance issues emerge on signs after several years exposure outdoors. The top edge of a sign will need repainting before anything else. Because Black is such a universal color, the home owner can pick up a little can of any brand of Black oil-based enamel and perform their own easy, invisible touchups.

Efficiency: In the interest of making these premium signs available at very low base prices, we looked at every part of the fabrication process with an eye toward streamlining. Pre-painting ALL panels the same color is one of the few places we can save time on these highly personalized signs. Black was chosen for it's richness next to the other colors in our pallet, it's coverage and ease of matching.
